Centenary Celebration

Welcome to Mityana Secondary School

Established in 1909, Mityana Secondary School stands as a testament to the visionary collaboration between the Buganda Kingdom and the Church Missionary Society of the United Kingdom. Our foundation was laid by the pioneering efforts of Venerable Rev. Harry Bowers, a dedicated missionary, and Owek. Paul Nsubuga Bakunga, the esteemed county chief of Ssingo at the time. For over a century, our institution has been a shining beacon of academic excellence, spiritual growth, and character development in Uganda. What began as a boys' school has evolved through numerous historical milestones to become a co-educational institution of repute. Today, we take immense pride in our affiliation with the Mityana Diocese, Church of Uganda (Anglican). Our governance structure includes a foundation body that nominates five distinguished members to our Board of Governors, including the chairman, ensuring that we maintain our strong Christian values while delivering top-tier education.
